A Dynamic Positioning Officer (DPO) is a specialized professional responsible for ensuring the safe and precise positioning of vessels, especially those equipped with dynamic positioning systems.
DP Basic (Induction )
- Phase A: DP Induction Course + online examination.
- Phase B: A minimum of 60 DP sea time days on board on unclassed or Class 0 vessel and completion of all task section.
DP Advanced (Simulator)
- Phase C: DP Simulator + online examination
- Phase D: 60 DP sea time days on board unclassed or Classed 0 vessel OR optional Sea Time Reduction (STR) Course followed by 30 DP sea time days on unclassed or Class 0 vessels.
DPO Limited/Unlimited
- Phase E: Assesment and Statement of sutability form Signed off by the Master of the last DP vessel logged before apply for DP Certificate
